Happy Valentine's Day!

So it's Valentine's Day and I sadly do not get to spend it with Joseph because he has to work. But it's ok, we celebrated Valentine's Day yesterday by sleeping in, hanging out in Indianapolis, seeing 16 Candles at the theater, devouring pizza, exchanging cute gifts, and just being all kinds of wonderfully lovey dovey. Instead of being sad that I can't spend the actual day of love with my boy I'm going to have a "me" night complete with: painting my nails, making myself a yummy dinner, catching up on Grey's Anatomy, attempting to make these (or just indulging in some Ben & Jerry's), and flipping through this months girly magazines.

Even though I love Joseph everyday of the year and try to show him as much as I can, and vice versa, I am just in love with the idea of having that one special day to really kick things up a few notches or take some quiet time together that you might not normally make time for. So, in keeping with that spirit here are just a few of the things I absolutely adore about my amore!
  • He talks to me on the phone every single night right before we both go to sleep, no matter how tired he is.
  • He has overcome a lot of obstacles life has thrown at him in the last few months and really worked to make himself a better person.
  • Our car rides are probably the most entertaining/fun things.
  • He embraces my hidden dorky side.
  • He thinks I look the prettiest when I wear my glasses and have no make-up on.
  • Panda Bear and Big Bear are used more often than Katie and Joe.
  • He is the best uncle to the most adorable tot, and everytime I see them playing together my heart melts.
  • He tolerates my new found love for "spider monkeying" him while singing "Baby Monkey Riding Backwards On A Pig".
  • He thinks I am the best baker in the world and often requests I make him cookies.
  • While we have a lot of differences, we have a lot of similarities.
  • He doesn't judge me for easily being able to play a major role in helping demolish a 16 inch royal feast pizza.
  • I can talk to him about anything and everything.
  • He gives the best hugs and forehead kisses in the whole entire world.
  • We mutually love eachother to pieces!
Whether you are single, or happily taken, have a wonderful Valentine's Day filled with love!

Happy Mother's Day!

I'm so lucky to have a wonderful mom, grandma, and aunt who are tons of fun and always there for me with words of advice and encouragment when I need it. Not only are they there for me to offer guidance and wisdom, but they've also become like friends to me. I'm so thankful that they are in my life and that they are amazing mothers. Not to mention all of my aunts and cousins and friends, etc... who are wonderful women and mothers themselves!

I really do enjoy spending time with my family so I'm looking forward to it all. Happy Mothers Day to all the mommy's/grandma's,aunt's,like a mom's out there, I hope it was wonderful! Give your mom's a big hug and a smooch!

On the boyfriend...

yes, I realize this is a goofy picture of him and I don't care.
This is the guy I call mine. Joseph Jerrold Robinson. He's scruffy, sometimes smelly, loud, obnoxious, goofy, and fond of putting me in embarassing situations but I love him to pieces. I love talking to him day in and day out and I can't imagine being with anyone else. I can talk to him about anything and he has no problem calling me out on my crap, which may not always be what I want but I definitely need it. I still get butterflies when I kiss him and hold his hand and cuddle with him. We both may be a little crazy in this relationship but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Retractable statements

After feeling completely drained and angry yesterday I have had time to mellow out and sit back and gather my thoughts. Spencer said it best "What good is all this hate? Live life with a smile. If that's too hard, then do more than just vent on here. Talk to me, or to anyone else. Life's what you make it, make it good." It really got me thinking. too often do I focus on the negatives , as abundant as they may seem, when I should really be thankful and gracious for all the positives in my life. Things could always be so much worse. So, to keep my momentum up here are a few people/things that make me smile.

My momma! She has and forever will be there for me no matter what. We really are s much alike that when we fight it's huge and blown up and when we get along we're like best friends.

Amy Marie. I love her and I miss her dearly. She is my bestest bestie. While I may be sad she is not in Indiana at the moment, I am very glad she is in the hands of some very amazing friends out in Idaho.

Lynnell. Sister by marriage, friend by fate. We have our crazy ups and downs, but in the end she has always had my back in everything and has listened to me talk my life away many a nights.

Spencer. We don't hang out much or talk super frequently but her is a good guy. He gives good advice (see above) and is very knowledgable about music. He's just a genuinely nice guy.

Sunsets on the beach. Granted I haven't been to the ocean in a year, this is one of my favorite sights in the world. It is even better when it takes place in OBX, North Carolina.

Meredith Grace. She is one of my best friends ever. I may not see her much as of late due to her working 2nd shift and having a boyfriend (of 1 yr!)but I love her all the same.

Taylor Swift and Ingrid Michaelson. Taylor writes the songs that could come right out of my journal and Ingrid writes the songs I wish were coming out of my journal.

Liz. We have been best friends for 8 years and have been through everything together.

Rizzo. my puppy!

Fireworks! The just put me in a good mood, all of the colors and shapes. I love 4th of July fireoworks and 3 rivers Festival fireworks the best!

Other things that make me smile::
toddlers in cute little outfits.
happy families.
dresses.
smiling in general.
good friends.
Idaho.
Indiana countryside.
cute crushes.
sun sun sun.
Random Destination days.
spending the day at the lake in my bathing suit.
seeing old friends.
making new friends.
movie nights.
the drive-in.
cuddling.
rain showers.
thunderstorms.
parades.
singing in the car.
finishing a good book.
my brothers.
my friends.
cloudless days.
musically inclined bands.
Irish accents.
sappy movies.
walks.
etc...

Happy Mother's Day!

I love my momma so much! I may complain about her and we may fight, but I will always and forever admire her as a person and for all that she has done to give my brothers and I the life that we have.

Where's the little canary in skinny jeans?!

Tonight Amy and I decided to go to Anderson in hopes of seeing Rodeo Ruby Love rather than Columbus to see Bishop Allen since we are procrastinators and also have work in the morning.
We missed Rodeo Ruby Love, which was very disappointing.
The other bands we saw that were there pretty much sucked.
One was a super Christian band, that would have been alright had it not been for a 15 minute sermon about how Jesus loves me.
The other was a bad love child of Aqualung and Ben Folds.
However, the night was not a loss.
We had many grand adventures scoping out Anderson, getting lost in Anderson, finding out that Anderson has far too many one way streets, not asking for directions in Anderson,etc...
We also ate at White Castle for the very first time!
While it was not as amazing as we had envisioned it, it was something we could say we did that we hadn't before, just ask the girl in the bright yellow sweats that asked us if we had been there.
So, in the end, the night ended up being quite interesting and enjoyable.

Fact:Do not procrastinate when wanting to go to shows that are far distances from you.
Fact:Do not panic in a strange city with lots of ridiclous one way streets and the ghetto at every corner.
Fact:I love times lie this when it's more about the trip and adventure and who you're with than what you actually did.
