Dear Idaho,

Is it weird that I miss you immensely even though I spent a mere 9 days experiencing you? I miss mountain air and summer breezes, crossing the street without looking, and that really bizarre hail storm. I miss Amy and Katherine and Christina and Jeff and Aaron and Harper and Leah and Zack and Brady and Kari and Makana and Tori and Tom and everyone else who was so nice to me and who I became fast friends with. I miss those sparkly pink Hannah Montana nails I got, walking everywhere, getting Horked, and D.I. I miss trips to Idaho Falls, staying up extremely late, listening to records, and getting rained on almost everyday. I miss spending so much time with my best friend, walking all over BYU-I's campus, and eating the best cupcakes every single day (no joke). I miss Malad with Aaron and Amy, thinking we were stranded forever, the best pizza in the world, chickens in backyards, parks with the prettiest mountain views, and Aaron making us cry and then buying us ice cream. I miss the late night drive to SLC, listening to The Ataris, and having a mini sleepover. I miss all of that plus soooo much more. I want to go back so bad! Good thing I plan on visiting again once summer rolls around. Until then I will keep missing you.

Love, Katie

Just a moment

I'm going to complain for the next 2 seconds and then I will be done!

It is ridiculously hot and gross feeling today. In fact, it has been like this all week. Yes the sun is beautiful but I'm really not loving it being 93 degrees at the present moment and stickier then a half consumed lollipop. Even when it gets later into the evening the heat and humidity is still there, making outside activities near impossible to enjoy. Last night I broke into a sweat walking from my car to my grandmas garage. Can you say eww?

I am still on Idaho time for some reason, which I actually prefer because I still have 2 extra hours in my head. Because of this I haven't been able to fall asleep before 1am this entire week. This normally woudn't be a big deal to me except for the fact that I have to wake up for work every morning at 6:15am. Therefore I am crazy tired today.

When I pulled in to work today my normal parking spot was taken. I park in the same spot every day and have become somewhat anal about it. Our parking lot is divided in two parts basically; one side has parking spaces for us office girls and then the other side has a ton of parking for the guys in the shop, the project managers, and visitors. The visitor spots are clearly, boldly, and brightly labled VISITOR. Today a visitor was in my spot which made me have to park in the other side of the lot, which really isn't even a drastic distance from where I park, it is just the fact of the matter.

For lunch I went to Wendy's and ordered an oriental chicken salad. A CHICKEN salad. When I got back to work to take my lunch break my salad had no chicken.

I really really really have to pee as I have yet to go today. Anyone who really knows me knows that I only go to the bathroom three times a day tops. Everytime I go downstairs to use the restroom someone is in it. Only five girls (six including me) work in the office, there is no reason for the bathroom to be in used every single time I got to use it. It's a conspiracy.

Complaining over!!! whew!

T-Minus Two Days

I will be back in Indiana at 10:32pm Saturday night. This fact makes me very sad. My week in Idaho has gone by extremely fast but all of it has been ridiculously enjoyable. I'll be sad to leave Rexburg tomorrow afternoon, and even sadder to leave for home Saturday evening. However, I do still have two days basically with my best friend and my lovely new friends so I'm going to soak it up. Tomorrow's trip to Salt Lake with Amy and Aaron will be fun and Friday night and Saturday in SLC will be lovely.

I'm going to miss this when I leave.

I'm tired of drawing turtles and hares

Today Leah had the great idea of making up a little questionnaire for all of her blog followers/friends to answer via their own blogs. Being that I was in the room when this thought came in to motion as well as hearing her tell us all repeatedly that we should complete these questions I felt the need to go ahead and do so while we all spend the remainder of our evening being tech savy.

1. What's your favorite non-food/ supporting food (e.g. ice cream cones (the cone itself), whipped cream, marshmallow creme)?
there really are multiple answers to this question. I love ketchup a lot. straight icing is delicious as well. and waffle cones, I do enjoy a good waffle cone.

2. Favorite book pre-high school?
The Outsider's by S.E Hinton. even after high school I still love it.

3. Whose handwriting do you envy?
Amy Marie has beautiful handwriting. I've always loved it and wished mine could look as crazy cool as hers.

4. What does your blog title mean/ where did it come from?
"dream" can refer to anything. be it what you imagine in your sleep, what you space out thinking about during the day, your plans for the future, the perfection in the here and now, or what you find to be lovely in this world. I dream often.

5. Favorite chore (or least hated):
Laundry. I don't know why because I let my clothes pile up for weeks on end,but once I push past finding the motivation to start a load it isn't so bad. There is nothing like the smell of freshly clean clothes.

6. What's your favorite kind of chip (baking and dipping)?
A. peanut butter. B. the tortilla chips with a hint of lime.

7. Favorite animal (mythological and real)?
A. unicorn. B. penguin,giraffe,or monkey.

The Rundown

I have been in Idaho for 3 days now and I absolutely love it. We haven't done anything necesarilly outrageous but I've had fun. I love just sitting around listening to everyone talk while a record is playing in the background. There's something so chill and personal about it. I also love the fact that there is constant laughter. I'm glad i still have six days to be here.

Lately I've been feeling lonely.
I miss having more people in my life that legitimately care about me and are there for me no matter what.
The amount of people I feel that I can truly depend on is dwindling, and while I wish there were more I could really be close with I know I should be even more grateful for those who I do have in my life. (which I am!)

I just signed a lease today for my first apartment.
It is both extremely liberating and crazy scary.
For the first time in my life I will be on my own and fully responsible for myself.
However, I think this will be a good step for me.
I'm pretty happy with my roomates Tressie and Haley, I'm sure things will go smoothly which is a plus.
I still can't shake my nerves though.

I am officially going to Idaho this summer!
Once I get my tax return check I will be purchasing my plane ticket.
The only problem is picking a time to come!
Oh,and the fact that it will be the first time ever that I will fly is rather scary, but I will get over it.

I say I alot.

"You shouldn't overspend at the moment. Frugality is important."

Thanks fortune cookie.

I have a lot of things I want to save up for for the very near future as well as further down the road. I've been doing much better at not blowing my pay checks every week (minus the Chicago trip, but that was expected). I'm learning how to save my money in order to get things that I want rather than relying on my parents since I'm 6 months from being 20 years old. Now that I have a steady job that pays decently and I'll be working somewhere around 40 hours a week during the summer I'll have plaenty of money and opprotunity to save it.

Things I'm saving for...
1.summer clothes - granted I go shopping a lot, but I always buy things I want right then and not always things I need. I really need to purchase some dresses/dressy clothes for work,sandals/non wintery shoes, and a decent bathing suit.

2.a weekend in Chicago - me and Meredith decided a while back that we definitely wanted to go to Chicago this summer for a weekend. It's probably our favorite place to go ever and the last time we went together it was with my mom and sunt, so this time we want to go on our own. Money being saved will be needed for splitting the cost of a hotel room, gas, food, parking, random spending, and of course shopping.

2.Idaho - I've always talked about visiting Amy out in Idaho but never really had the chance or money. With the money I'll be making this summer however, I should be more than capable of getting a plane ticket to and from Idaho. I'll need money for a plane ticket and spending. Hopefully this idea will pan out for once because I really want an Idaho potato and miss Amy when she is gone for forever!

4.possibly moving out - Celia recently approached me about maybe moving into an apartment for next school year with her and a couple of other girls. The place we're looking at is a 4 bedroom apartment with individual bathrooms. a living room, and kitchen. The complex has a pool, game room, hot tub,and work out room. It's so nice, but a little more expensive than we anticipated. None the less I think it would be a good stepping stone for me since it's still in town for when I transfer schools my junior year, move into my own place, and am out of town and really completely on my own. http://www.stjoeplace.com/

on a different note, it's a beautiful day today!
and, it's almost the weekend!
