Dear...

Dear hair,
I know I put you through the ringer with some questionable cuts and interesting lengths, not to mention how much I dye you. But, could you please please please grow any faster?! I really want nice, pretty, long hair by summer and you are currently frustrating me with your slowness and uneveness.

Dear Indiana weather,
You're really getting on my nerves. Usually I love your winter snow and cold temperatures, but this is ridiculous. At least give us a peak of the sun for more than just half a day??? I know that the current forecast is calling for sun, but you've tricked me before. Please don't let me down.

Dear Amy Marie,
It makes me sad that you've been home for 2 months and it seems like we barely hang out! We need to change that before you leave me! We have to many crafts to make and cupcakes to bake and things to buy!

Dear nails,
I'm sorry I ripped off the pretty acrylics, but I just can't afford to get you done this week and you've already gone too long without a touch up. I promise when I get home I'll buff you out and put some polish on to help you feel pretty again.

Dear school,
I'm going to start being more dilligent about you. I'm capable of getting all A's and I'm going to show it.

Dear future,
Please stop messing with my head. You're making me worry too much and question too many things. I'll figure out where I'm going next year soon. I'll decide if I want to change my major soon. Just stop giving me anxiety please and thank you.

Dear St. Joe Place Apartment,
You suck.

Dear Joseph,
I love you and I hate fighting. Oh, and we need more pictures of us please and thank you.

Dear nutella,
You are delicious and I could eat you all day everyday. You make my mouth water and my taste buds tingle!

Dear clase de espaƱol,
I refuse to let you win. I WILL defeat you and come out passing with flying colors. Just because you have a million different verb tenses and my professor speaks a mile a minute doesn't mean I won't get the hang of it.

Dear hair pt. 2,
When I let you go au naturale I expect you to curl nicely. What is this frizzed out craziness you're giving me today?!

Dear craftiness,
Where art thou?! I keep having all this motivation to find things to make and create, but when it comes down to it I really have no idea what to do. I need some motivation and inspiration asap!

Dear Pint & Sice,
Thank you for being the most delicious pizza and perfect for little date nights with boyfriend and lunches with Mere. Also, I haven't been to you in far too long. I think it's time for some pizza!

Dear coffee,
Thanks for making all kinds of jittery today.

Dear people who think you can pick and choose when you want to be "real" friends,
You can't.

Dear budget,
You're killing me. Do you know how bad I want to irresponsibly spend my money?! But, I suppose rent, groceries, insurance, and my car payment are more important than new shoes.

Dear weekend,
I wish you would hurry up! I also wish I could have one where I didn't have a thing to do, but no such luck.

Dear homemade pizza,
It was a valiant effort.

I want this!

Even though I love semi flashy jewelry, I have been looking everywhere for a simple little knot ring like this one. One of the awesome blogs I follow, Post Grad Hair Cut, is actually giving one away. I would absolutely love to win it, but if not I may just have to snatch one up on India Y La Luna.

A Valentine's Day recap

I woke up sunday morning to my boyfriend already at my apartment delivering me breakfast in bed! It wasn't anything super elaborate, but the thought was the cutest. He made me scrambled eggs with cheese and wheat toast with jelly, plus a bowl of cereal and a glass of orange juice. I gave him his little gift which was a "fill in the blank" book completed by me about what I love about him. Semi cheezy?? A little, but I thought it was a cute idea and he seemed to really like it. We cuddled a layed around watching the Olympics and he gave me a nice back massage. We visited Meredith and took her her Valentine from Sam, who is in Spain and unable to do his own Valentine's Day shopping. While we were there we even Skyped with Samuel which is always amusing. After we left Miss Mere we went and visited my momma who just had back surgery on Friday. She was home and my brothers and grandparents were there too so me and Joe visited with them for awhile and I got a couple little Valentine's gifts from them. Joe and I then went to Best Buy where I bought 500 Days of Summer (which I'm really itching to watch) and The Time Traveler's Wife. When we got back to my place Joe started making me dinner. He made me homemade Chinese takeout and salad which was delicious! Then we cuddled up on the couch and watched The Time Traveler's Wife. It was a very good Valentine's Day!

Just in case anyone was curious about the start of my "diet", I postponed it until this week because I got sick last week. So, today is day one. Meredith told me about this really cool thing called The Daily Plate where you can calculate the amount of calories you should be consuming based on your goals. On top of that you can record everything you eat and any type of activity you do where you may burn calories to keep on track. We'll see how it goes!

Happy (almost) Valentine's Day!

I have an actual valentine for the first time ever! yay! So, to humor me the boyfriend has something up his sleeve for Sunday that he refuses to tell me about.

Shameless wanting

The adorable Swede Records is giving away this neat decoupage tray containing E.E Cummings poem "I carry your heart with me"

I would absolutely love to win this as E.E Cummings is one of my favorites! Oh, and not to mention Jenny and her Swede are ridiculously fun and cute.

A question

I'm facing a minor dillemma as to what to do for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day. In all honesty I've never really even had a valentine to do anything for or with, so I'm a little out of the loop and scraping for ideas.

Help me?!?!!?!

Sickness, health, and more bad weather

I currently feel like I have been slammed into by a semi truck, had the semi truck reverse, and roll back over my several times. My throat is super swollen to the point it is uncomfortable to be awake let alone swallow, my body aches everywhere, and I have the worst cramps, oh and I burnt my hand yesterday on a crock pot and it's really red and swollen and gross. Yet, I'm at work. BUT after I go to my 10am biology test I am going home to (hopefully) sleep the rest of the day away so I can feel better. I don't really have a reason for sharing all of this other than to whine to more people than my boyfriend, mom, and coworkers.

Anywho, I'm starting a diet of sorts this week. Really it's not so much of a diet as the beginnings of a much healthier lifestyle. I'm (attempting) to cut out sugar and fried foods from my diet. Not all sugars, but unnatural sugars found in all of my favorite things like cupcakes, and frosting, and cookies, and Reese's Cups, and store bought lemonade, and pop. Fried foods shouldn't really be a problem seeing as I don't eat much of them anyway unless it's the occassional french fry or Bdubs trip. BUT did you know that tortilla chips are usually fried?! Maybe this is common knowledge but I really didn't think they were or if I did I just blocked it out of my mind as I chowed down on baskets full at Mexican restraunts. While this idea may be a bit of a challenge I think it will be good for me in the long run. I'm sure I'll cheat a time or to, as I have a really hard time passing up a good cupcake, but as long as it's not a daily thing it will be fine. Later this week or next week I'm going to start going to the gym at school to work out 3-4 times a week and once it gets warmer I hope to have the motivation to start running at the park down the road from my apartment. I don't know if I actually will or not seeing as running is one of my all time least favorite activities. ( I ran the mile in high school in 11 min 32 seconds. Not because I can't run, but because I hate it so much I look for excuses to slow down or stop.) So, we'll see how that dream goes. But, as far as the change in diet and other exercise plans I'm really looking forward to getting myself to a heathier me.

Oh, also, I was really not stoked on seeing this today when I went to check the local weather. Seriously?! A possible 5-9 inches of snow?! Thanks winter, I really don't like you right now. Go away!

Get Crafty!

Lately I've really been bitten by the craft bug for some reason, probably because Amy and I decided to do crafts while she's home more so than go out and spend ridiculous amounts of money like we did last winter. The only problem is that I've never really been a crafty person and have no real talent in making things and thinking of ideas. However, over the weekend Amy sent me a couple of links to some crafts sites so we could get inspiration and I fell in love with How About Orange... a super cute blog devoted to design and crafting. The majority of the projects and ideas on there are fairly easy to make so even novices like myself can at least feel like we have a chance at making something half way decent.

Some of my favorites so far include...
paper heart garland

fabric wall decals.

felt flowers.

magazine page coasters.

fabric covered thumbtacks

and

magazine bows.

Now I'm super excited to start making things!!!!!! (I'm so glad we're finding ideas now Amy! Now we don't have to wander around Hobby Lobby with no idea what we're doing ever again hahaha.)
