My boyfriends awesome brother and sister in-law (Paul and Sarah) are giving away their 6 year old Yorkie, Brodie. Last night Sarah asked me if I would want to take Brodie as I have wanted a dog ever since I moved out. Given this fact I am seriously considering taking her and giving her all of my loving. If I were to take over the task of being "mommy" to Brodie I would get all of the outfits Sarah has bought her (Brodie was basically her baby until the real life baby Cash came along ha), toys, and Paul and Sarah would take her to the groomer before giving her to me. This sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me and I REALLY want a dog!
However, some problems do arise, as I am trying to be somewhat rational about this all. For one, Brodie would be going from living in a house where she could frolick around all day to my little apartment where I would potentially have to put her in a crate while I go to work and class. Two, I'm not sure how hyped my roomie would be on our new guest, as having pets in out complex is somewhat discouraged. Three, there would be the new found task of feeding the dog and taking it to the vet if she were to get sick which could be pricey.
BUT since Brodie is such a small little thing the space wouldn't be an issue and as long as I didn't let her get into things she shouldn't and made sure she was good and fed, health shouldn't be too big of an issue. Also, I think as long as Brodie isn't a psycho crazy dog she won't be a big problem at all with roomie. (I'm very good at finding counters for potential problems!)
I need help! I really want to take Brodie so Paul and Sarah won't have to keep looking for a good home for her and worrying, but at the same time I don't want to rush into anything without thinking it over. What do you think people of the blogosphere?!

how old is she? If she's potty-trained, it shouldn't be too bad. Also, if you have your own room, she could stay in there during the days.
I really like puppies, so I say yes. (:
I say if the pup is potty trained and the roomie doesn't mind, go for it.
You might have to clean your room first...
potty trained is a must.. buy a little fence to keep it in a space so it can't move around a ton while you're gone, and in a space that'd be easy to clean up in case an accident does happen.
