Thank you Spencer

This may be a rant of sorts, which I apologize for in advance, as I do not enjoy ranting however I feel the need to right now.

Yes I bought a new car, and yes I know it's going to make things "harder" as far as money is concerned. However I would rather live under a sustained budget then blow my money the way I have for the last year and a half that I've been in college. I would also most definitely rather have invested in a nice, new, reliable car now than the incredibly less reliable cars I have driven the last four to five years. It makes much more sense to invest in a car that is going to last me the next ten plus years than to purchase cars that are going to die out on me within two years or have a laundry list of repairs needed just to save money. Also, I happened to have money saved up plus the $3500 I recieved in my insurance settlement from my accident for the down payment and seeing as I am leasing to own the car my monthly payments are considerably less, not to mention the $6500 cash back rebate deal I recieved on the car. I realize I pay for a lot of things such; as rent, groceries, a part of my car insurance, gas, and now my car, but I also work a job 32-40 hours a week that pays me over $11. A.K.A.: I bring in hundreds of dollars on my paycheck weekly. (In stating this I'm not meaning to boast about my job, etc... it is purely to get my point accross.) I have a written out budget that includes EVERYTHING I pay for. This way I know how much money I have to pay bills and such as well as money to play around with. This is the way I have chosen to go about living my life and containing my finances. It is no ones place to lecture me, or get on a high horse, or to place snide remarks. I pay for all of my own stuff (with the exception of my college tuition and a part of my car insurance/medical insurance) on my own and I am fine with that. So please do not tell me how much "harder" things will be now that I have a new car or how expensive it will be or ponder how I am paying or not paying for it. I know these things, and I really do not see any more of a hardship in having a car payment now, it just means I have to actually control my spending. I am smarter than you must think I am and I have everything under control and have taken all things into consideration.

This is in no way an attack on anyone, just a hurried and agitated explanation to settle any more comments from people who think they know better than me.

hahaha, yeah, the only person it's an attack on is clearly named and then spoken to in the post.

it's not a put-down, or a snide-remark, or anything. it wasn't meant to be, at least. it's just most people our age struggle with finances, and by buying a newer car, and having higher payments and blah blah blah, you'll have higher month-to-month costs.

but, based on your rant, it sounds like you've got a good plan to work with.
