The Road by Cormac McCarthy

One of the best fiction novels I have ever read, The Road is a heartbreaking look at a father and sun working to survive in a post-apocolyptic world. McCarthy never gives names to the characters and keeps the setting dark and grim, creating both a sense of detatchment from what used to be and a closeness and hope for the characters. Once you start reading you won't put it down, promise.

Dude, Katie, This one of my favorite books! I talked my mom into reading and she's reading right now. She keeps texting me about how good it is.
i liked it.. but it's not my favorite. my favorite is either kavalier & clay (chabon), or now is the hour (spanbauer).. read 'em if you haven't!
